Front Pages.

Standard front pages do sell badly at the kiosk. To increase sales figures lead stories need gripping visuals.

Special Investigation. "Irish Examiner" devoted one issue to the topic 'drug abuse'. The front page shows the portrait of an 18-year-old girl who died from a mixture of drugs. The caption reads, "Kim O'Rourke, 18, mixed methadone and sedatives for a cheap thrill. It was her first and last time taking drugs. She is just one of a generation lost to the scourge."

Unambiguous Topic. A black square visualizes the stock market crash in the autumn of 2008 in a most striking manner.

Christmas Eve. "Aamulehti" suggests to the readers which organisations to donate money to on the occasion of Christmas.

For Retail Sale. "Neue Westfälische" produces two front pages per day - one for their subscribers and one for retail sale. The editorial staff''s comment: "Our concept does not only prevent falling sales figures, but manages to increase the sale by 3%."  Successful topics are crime stories, sport reports and sensational local news.
