Their pictoral language is homogeneous as they use mostly their own local photos. Service for the readers is high on their list of priorites: service boxes, charts, and infographics are a taken-for-granted addition to their reports as well as the inividual journalist's name, email address and direct dial extension. Each section is stapled and therefore easy to handle. |

All over Impression. This front page has a modern, information-based appearance. Local events are presented in such a way as to rouse the readers' curiosity for inside pages. Number of Topics. The teasers on this page refer to six different topics. At the bottom there is room for an advertisment, above which a table of contents informs the readers about the different sections in this issue. Masthead. It features an unspectacular sanserif font in caps and indicates clarity and presence. Teasers. The space above the masthead shows two teasers accompanied by cut-out pictures, below there are three more teasers only constisting of texts but with a keyword for each in a red bar. The teasers further down on the page deal with the swine flu, corruption and destroyed art objects in a park. Banner Headline. It is a combination of picture, infographics and headline and informs about the demographic development between 2006 and 2016 in different places in their distribution area. Only Växjö, where "Smålandsposten“ is published, is said to increase their population density . Typography. Headlines are set in Antenna, a sanserif font with an exciting, dynamic and modern appeal. For bodycopy Greta Regular is used, a serif typeface which makes for easy readability . |

Motors on Friday. This double page, regularly published on Fridays, is devoted to a motorcycle fan and his Harley-Davidson. The vehicle and its owner are shown in a number of photos. It is typical of Scandinavian newspapers that an individual is put in the centre of interest, rather than a group or an institution. The text is relatively short, which is another distinguishing characteristic in comparison to German newspapers: In Scandinavia more emphasis is put on pictures. | |

Next to the lead picture on the left there ar three smaller photos, whereas the right margin is left to sports news. Picture and Infographics. This double page deals with the number of people employed in forestry . The count in 1995 was 11,579, but in 2007 the number decreased to 2,721. The combination of picture and infographics has a dramatic and gripping effect, which is further supported by the red colour . | |
