This year the european newspapers of the year come from Portugal, Norway, Denmark and Scotland. A total of 219 newspapers from 27 countries participated in the 12th European Newspaper Award (tenth competition 236 participants, 11th 241).
The European Newspaper Award intends to foster the exchange of information about the concept and design of newspapers throughout Europe.
